Meet the artists!

The Badger Trust is working with British artists and artisans to stock the Brock Shop with beautiful, fun and quirky new products that support badgers and British small businesses. We are thrilled to be able to introduce you to the artists

that make our new Brock Shop possible. When you make a purchase from the Brock Shop you aren't putting money into the pockets of big businesses, but supporting local talent (and their badger friends!).

Lily Clare

Hi! I'm Lily, and I'm a full-time Physics student and part-time craft enthusiast! I love drawing cute woodland animals in silly situations. If I can imagine what a badger would look like if he suddenly found himself in floating around in space, I'll draw it!

Applepig Designs

Sarah & Darren

Sarah. the owner of Applepig Designs and her graphic design and wildlife illustrator partner both have creative backgrounds. Darren has over 20 years experience working with Disney, Universal Studios, Royal Doulton, Dorling Kindersley Books, Sega and Nintendo. Sarah trained as a display technician and designed a range of greeting cards and wrapping papers that were acknowledged by WH Smith, Paperchase, Liberty and Caroline Gardner.

I'm Ruth, and I design and make costumes! I trained as a costume designer and worked in the theatre for many years, before moving on to run my own costume hire company and lecture in theatrical costume. After having my two awesome kids, I now work from my tiny little studio overlooking the garden in the heart of England, in between the school run!

I design original homeware to reflect our surroundings and to fit into a modern home, being both beautiful and useful.

Little Paisley Designs

Eleanor Jane

Working from my sunny attic studio in Bristol, helped by three naughty cats and fuelled by lots of cups of tea, I spend my days painting & making! All items start as a hand-painted illustration and are handmade in my home studio, or printed using British companies, then packaged and assembled by hand.

JR Hayes Art

Hello, my name is Jess, an inky doodler from the North of England.  My work contains a fascination with the natural world, inspired by the leafy layers of the woods and the tiny details of the forest floor. I work predominantly by hand with pen and ink to create intricate floral patterns and designs. Narratives form the basis of my work, with a strong interest in ghost stories, folktales and myths. The stranger the better!

Kate Broughton

Hello, my name is Kate, I am a designer/maker and illustrator based in Otley, West Yorkshire, in the UK. I have always made things, as far back as I can remember I have been drawing, painting, sewing, knitting and a whole lot of other stuff besides. Growing up I did a lot of walking in woods, paddling in rivers, and birdwatching. This is where my love of wildlife began and since then it seems to have been a prevailing influence on my work.

GeekKraft UK

Anna Pratt

It all started when I had to take a step back from a regular 9 to 5 job due to a very bad relapse of M.E. being the stubborn person I am I couldn't just sit back and let this illness beat me so turned my love of all things craft related, jewellery and my inner geek and started to produce jewellery.

Wooden Card Gifts

Martin Tipper

I have been self-employed since March 2015 making mainly wooden dog jigsaws and animal jigsaws along with a few other bits and pieces. I cut all the jigsaws myself using a scroll saw. I spend all my time in my shed, doing something I love.

Rachel Hudson

Hello, I'm Rachel. I'm a freelance illustrator passionate about wildlife. My great grandmother was a designer for Morris & Co and Liberty so I like to think that creativity inspired by nature runs in my blood! I work full time from my home studio in The Stores, a cottage that was once the village shop.

Sugar & Vice Designs

Sarah & Matt

Tired of unrewarding jobs and itching to utilise our design skills, we formed Sugar & Vice in 2007 and began making jewellery from plastic and metal charms and reclaimed upcycled items. Firmly believing that special jewellery shouldn't always be something that you have to save up for, we saw a gap in the market for aspirational but affordable pieces for a fun-loving crowd and made it our mission to fill it.

Jin Designs

I’m a Graphic Designer based on the sunny south coast of the UK, in a place called Hove, next to Brighton. In June 2013, after many months, years even, of thoughts, dreams, creativity and plans, I launched my own designs on a range of high quality home and giftware. I’ve designed these for people to create their own stories - as a reminder of something that's personal to them.

Juniper Designs

Susan Brooke

My name is Susan. I began by designing and screen printing 100% cotton scarves under my own brand label Juniper. September 2016 saw the introduction of cotton tea towels which are digitally printed here in the UK. 2017 saw the introduction of aprons.
