Our theme for National Badger Day and the month ahead is #LoveBadgers.
We are celebrating badgers and looking to a more hopeful future. National Badger Day, 6th October, begins a campaign to embrace all that a love of wildlife gives us.
Anyone can share why they're besotted with badgers via the #LoveBadgers and #NationalBadgerDay hashtags, today and throughout October. And with creative challenges and limited edition exclusives, there are plenty of ways to join in.
A message from Dominic Dyer, CEO of the Badger Trust:
'We're celebrating the beauty of badgers and all that wildlife and nature brings to us. National Badger Day is a brilliant opportunity to share our love for badgers with each other. And using the #LoveBadgers tag during October gathers together these positive stories.
'Despite the horror of the ongoing badger cull and the challenges and impact of the pandemic, there are joyful moments too. So many of us recognise how nature is an important part of our lives, one we need to value more, and engage with more.
National Badger Day and the month ahead give us all an opportunity to celebrate these iconic wild animals. It's also a time to hope for a better future for them, one which we continue to campaign for.'
